Guild Charter and Guildhouse

Guild Charter

The Empire of Twilight Mission Statement:

The Empire of Twilight is a Guild devoted to role-playing and ensuring the maximum ejoyment of Ultima Online for as many of the people within the Ultima multiverse as posible. We strive to uphold all the virtues within the game, and keep ourselves above reporach. We are a Guild firmly rooted in the concept of "goodness" for all that the term implies. We do not condone mindless player killing, and as such shun all those who participate in such, yet neither are we a Guild of bounty hunters or revenge extractors and do not require our members to participate in such activities. We see the Empire of Twilight as a large family, and actively encourage all members to assist each other where ever possible, within the constraints of the game and our policies.

Policy on Player Killing and Murderers:

The unjustified killing of other players by members of the Guild, and conversely the Guild will not tolerate any other players who engage in this activity. While we believe that such crimes should not go unpunished, we as a Guild do not see ourselves as the Judge, Jury, or Excutioners in such matters. Because of this we do not enforce it upon our members to hunt player killers, and neither do we condemn those members who choose to do so. We see this matter as one of personal choice, and will do al within our power to see that the hunting of player killers remains so.

Policy on Looting:

During any hunts, designated "looters" will be assigned. If you join a hunt you must abide by these rules. You are not to loot during this time. When you all return safely, the entire horde of treasure will be shared by all those who attended the mission. Excess equipment should be donate to a less fortunate member of the Empire.

This Empire is rich in resources, the key to our success is sharing and making sure that everyone is taken care of. Thank you for adhering to this policy.

Becoming an Initiate of the Empire:

Before you become an initiate of this Guild, many things must first take place. We need you to fill out the Application Form for our review. We will meet up with you IN game, and see how you behave/act when in different situations. This step can take days or weeks, that depends on the impression you make with our members.

We look for several characteristics in a person AND his online persona. To name just a few, we seek those who are loyal, dedicated, honorable, responsible, professional, caring, brave, honest, giving, and this list goes on and on. If you believe in these things, you are one step closer to becoming a member of the Empire.

The Pre-initiation Phase takes as long as needed. It is really up to you. If you are IN game a lot, and follow the policies, and strive to better the entire guild, you will find that the rewards are sweeter than you could have ever imagined. By giving your time and loyalty to the Empire you will find that our members will always be there for you, through thick and thin. If you do not put forth a strong effort to participate, we will drop you from the Initiate Phase, and say goodbye to you. The key to this stage is getting to know our members, and striving to show them that you are a team player. Also, make sure that you ask them to report your actions and deeds to the Council - this helps us keep track of your good faith and participation.

The only way to become an Initiate, is when four (4) members of the Empire of Twilight finally vouch for you. People have been known to get vouched for in 3 days, others have taken 3 weeks. This method is one that we believe in, and it helps filter out people who are not responsible enough to wear the title of the Empire of Twilight. Please, do not think that we are a conceited guild, I know that it may sound that way. Our members love the fact that they belong to a guild that takes pride in every aspect of the game and our following. When you enter our ranks, you will see that THIS guild is very different from the others.

During the Initiate Phase, you will be treated as an equal. You are considered a member of our Empire, but still need to polish up on Guild Training and your activeness within our fold. Simply attend missions and constantly display the characteristics expected of our members. Within days, you will be assigned to Level One rank (Squire or Neophyte) and be removed from Initiate Status.

I wish you good luck, friend! Maybe in time, you too will wear the title of the Empire. Until that day, I fare thee well.

After you are accepted:

Once you are accepted into our family, a few things will take place. You will be added to our Roster Pages and have the opportunity for creating a character biography.

Guild Uniform:

Our guild uniform is flexible to meet the needs of the many. Our primary colors are still to be determined.

Wearing a uniform is mandatory for all members and prospective members. If on your own time, away from the guild, you wish to wear your own colors, that is fine. Wearing the guild colors is thought to be an honor and should be cherished and worn whenever possible.

Participation is the Key:

The most important aspect of our guild and our survival, is participation. We have created several methods for you to participate such as: ICQ, Guild web page, Guild Events, Recruiting, Advertising, etc. If you make an attempt to meet others, IN and OUT of game, and show the Guild that you truly care - you will do just fine.

We realize that each person has their own amount of time that can be given towards our guild. Some can play for one hour per week, others have given four hours per day! You simply give what you can, and we will respect you for this.

Out of Game Participation:

  • Advertising via Newsgroups, chat rooms, ultima pages, newspapers, etc.
  • ICQ messages to members and allies.
  • Stories, Poems, Songs about our Guild, Members and Adventures.

If you join the Empire of Twilight, you will be immersed in friendship, honor, dedication and motivation. We all have energy unmatched by any other guild.

Using ICQ:

Most of our Guild members have ICQ. We ask that when you become a member, you add your Unit members to your contact list, as well as the High Council members. This way, we can all communicate with each other and have a better chance of knowing who is online from our Guild. ICQ can be found at http://www.mirabilis.com and is currently a free file and service.

We ask that as you add each member to your list, that you rename the entry to reflect the EOT suffix. (i.e. Flint should read: Flint, EOT). This process will help you to identify a guild member much faster in the case of an emergency.

Biography:

Biographies and photos are sent to the EoT Webmaster. All members are allowed to have their very own biography page. This helps form your character history and identity with our guild and in UO. This is not a mandatory feature.

Meetings:

Meetings may be called at any time. If one is called, it will be announced through the web page. Please read this EVERY DAY. We understand some circumstances may prevent one from visiting. If this happens, please notify your unit leader.

Leaving Our Guild:

If at any time you wish to be removed from our guild, simply email Flint or your Unit Leader. We will remove your info from all areas of our site. We will not give you a hard time about leaving - things come up and we will respect your wishes.

Negative Guild Actions:

  • Personally insulting fellow members of the Empire.
  • Disrepect of the Leaders and Founding Fathers of this Guild.
  • Give information to other Guilds regarding EOT or its tactics and strategies.
  • Cause harm to guild members or diplomats within the game unless it is in self defense.
  • Rude statements and/or foul language around people who do not appreciate it. Get to know people first, before you go running off at the mouth.
  • Disregard for Guild Policies.
  • Inactivity

Operational Behavior while in the Empire (During missions ONLY!):

  • In any operation there should be one or two leaders who will issue orders and speak for the group. This includes any unplanned impromptu situations that may arise, some individual MUST take command at a moment's notice and everyone must recognize that person as the leader. People should be aware at all times, even if only standing around outside the house, what the chain of command is. In any sort of emergency situation, that individual must be deferred to.
  • Everyone should remain quiet and pay attention to the operation leaders unconditionally.
  • If you MUST say something, message it to the leader through ICQ. Do not be vocal in game, it not only looks improper but also confuses the situation for others involved.
  • From no own, everyone should be in uniform at all times.
  • Do not convey any operational intelligence to non EOT unless it is an explicit joint operation, in which case use ICQ.
  • There WILL BE respect for leaders. This includes any of the High Council, any Team Leaders, any Operational Leaders and anyone who assumes a leadership position when no one else is of higher rank or able to assume leadership.
  • Respect is demanded from ALL members, at all times, despite rank or current leadership position.
  • A character's POWER does not make him/her a leader. Actions, respect and trust are what promotions and leadership positions are based upon.

Interactions with Other Guilds:

Any interaction with another guild in regards to forming an alliance or a joint operation should first be referred to all available members of the High Council. At no stage should a member of the Guild make any promises to assist another guild or form an alliance without approval from the High Council.

Rule and Policy Violations:

Any member found to be in violation of guild policy and/or rules will be first issued a warning. Upon the second violation the individual will stand in judgement before the High Council. The strongest penalty is banishment.

The Application Form:

After reviewing all this information, and you agree with our ethics and practices - you may now submit the application form to the High Council Recruiting Advisor.

Thank you for your interest in our Empire. May you walk with honor and spirit!

The Empire of Twilight Guildhouse and Guildstone

Where is the Guildhouse?

This is a very nice map!

The EoT guildhouse was established quite a long time ago. It began originally as a house used in the defense of the small town of cove. After the threat had been removed from the city if was turned into a public house. Flint was offered a place to put his vendor and he gladly accepted the chance to
finally have a shop of his own (somewhat his, due to the fact that the
other vendor there was never stocked). The owner decided that it was time
to leave this world and offered to sell the house to flint, which he
graciously parted with 40,000 gold to purchase this fine establishment.

After only a matter of days before he realized that he could not maintain
the house and also keep his vendor stocked. He thought long and hard about
what to do to rectify this problem. it finally occured to him that he had a
cousin in Magincia that would have more than enough time to devote to the
maintanance of the house. he sent word out to find dakar. It only took a
matter of a few days before dakar had gotten back in touch with his answer.
so flint, with the help of a couple friends, moved out and got dakar into
the house. dakar has owned the house for about 2 months now and in my mind, he has done a heck of a job maintaining it. The decorations are a bit dull, but what do u expect from a absentminded alchemist.

One good thing to be said about dakar though is that he has managed to
bring in a couple other vendors. they all seem to be doing very well here.
he has plenty of room to add a couple more vendors if there is the need to.

Current Guildhouse Roster:

Gerri: hails from minoc, master salesman for Flint Fireforge, Grandmaster
smith.

Gorman: hails from Moonglow, Grandmaster reagents seller for Blackmore.
Grandmaster reagent collector.

Ellsworth: also from Moonglow, aprentice to Gorman, Apprentice reagent
salesman for Blackmore

Bishop: hails from Magincia, Master alchemist/food salesman for Dakar,
soon to be Grandmaster alchemist

If you wish to have your wares for sale in this fine establishment, please
contact Dakar and he will more than accomodate you with the placement of a
vendor.

Rules of the house:

1: There is to be no competion between the vendors (as in no one selling the same thing as the others)

2: There is only one chest in this house and can be used for a very
temporary storage. This is due to the fact that it is Dakars house and you can only secure one item in a small house.

3: No wild parties are to be held here unless dakar is invited.

4: All these rules are changeable by dakar at any time he so choices to change them. if you do not like this then you are free to remove thy vendor at any time.

5:  There is no charge to place a vendor or a monthly charge whatsoever. If anyone asks you to pay for this kill them on sight for they are an imposter. a reward will be paid for proof of this happening.

6: If you wish to have more than one vendor in the house selling the same thing, you must get permission before doing so.

7: Are these rules rediculous or what?

8: Please keep the venodr stocked due to the overwhelming response we have had to the house. There have been a number of adventuring parties that only shop with us. It is in your best interest to keep them stocked.

9: If you have pets, they are to be kept with you at all times. all
pets left in the house will become rugs on the floor permanently.

I think that is all that i can come up with at this time.

Please feel free to come shop at the EoT Guildhouse: You want it?? We've got it!!

Please expect here sometime in the future, a detailed map showing the location and coordinates, what are the prices... even the actual name of the building and some history about it! (hint)
